[91.06] Up-the-Ramp Processing and Cosmic Ray Rejection on a Single Chip

J.D. Offenberg, D.J. Fixsen (SSAI), R. Sengupta (Sigma)

We present an algorithm for optimally processing uniformly sampled array image data obtained with a non-destructive readout. The algorithm discards full wells, removes cosmic ray (particle) hits and other glitches, and makes a nearly-optimum estimate of the signal and noise on each pixel. The computer requirements are modest, and we discuss implementing the code on a variety of systems, including small, real-time computers, DSPs and FPGAs.
