We present results from an analysis of the Lyman-alpha forest in the quasar spectra of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS). More than 3000 spectra are used to probe the absorption by the intergalactic medium in the redshift interval 2.1 < z < 5. We present measurements of the power spectrum and other statistics of the absorption, and discuss their implications. The redshift evolution and scale dependence of the power spectrum are measured to a few percent over the ranges 2.1 < z < 3.7 and 0.001 s/km < k < 0.02 s/km.
