[45.10U] Physical Parameters of Comet 28P/Neujmin 1

Comet 28P/Neujmin 1 is a Jupiter family comet that was observed at the CTIO 1.5 m telescope for four days from April 27-30, 2002. The lightcurve that was obtained in broadband R exhibited a period of 12.66 ± 0.07 hours with a peak to peak variation of 0.56 mag, yielding a lower limit for the nuclear axial ratio of 1.7. The mean magnitude of the comet was 16.74 mag with an estimated effective radius between 12.1 to 14.8 km, assuming a 0.03 and 0.02 albedo, respectively. We also observed the comet in V and I and the extracted colors will be discussed. The values we obtained are in good agreement with previous determinations.
