We explore an algorithm for determining extinction as a function of distance using Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) photometry of Galactic stars. SDSS photometry in the direction of (RA, dec) = (60o, 0o), for example, shows relatively large reddening that is not simply corrected using standard Galactic reddening maps, indicating that the dust may be spread over the line of sight between us and the stars at many distances.
