[44.02] The Mass Distribution and Mass Function of h+chi Persei

A. E. Bragg, S. J. Kenyon (Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics)

We describe results from an optical spectroscopic survey of the Double Cluster, h + \chi Persei, a pair of dense open clusters with ages between 10 and 20 million years (e.g., Vogt A&A 11:359). We currently have spectra of over 2000 stars, complete to V=15.0 (15.4), covering an area within 12.5 (9.0) arc-minutes of the center of each cluster. We will display HR diagrams and density distributions for the clusters, as well as preliminary measurements of the mass function.
