We report on Gemini Observatory infrared and VLA radio observations of the Anomalous X-ray Pulsar 1E 2259+586 made just after its June 2002 X-ray outburst. In particular, we report a 2.15 micron brightening, relative to a quiescent measurement made in 2000, by factors of 1.33 +/- 0.22 mag and 0.56 +/- 0.29 mag, 3 and 10 days post-outburst, respectively. No evidence for radio emission was seen 2 days post-outburst, with 99% confidence upper limit of 0.050 mJy at 1.4 GHz. We discuss these results in the context of the magnetar model.
