The Swift gamma-ray burst observatory includes two narrow-field telescopes operating in the X-ray and Optical/Ultraviolet bands respectively. These can be brought to bear on the site of a gamma-ray burst within about 1 minute of a trigger being issued by the wide field gamma-ray telescope. I will discuss the capabilities of these instruments and the kind of scientific measurements that they are capable of delivering, together with the baseline plans for their use in the overall context of the Swift mission objectives.
