[42.03] Relative Orientations of Seyfert Mass Outflows and Associated Galactic Disks

R. P. Deo, D. M. Crenshaw (GSU)

We present an analysis of the relative orientations of the narrow-line regions (NLRs) in 12 Seyfert galaxies with respect to the host galaxies. Given a biconical geometery for the NLRs, we have determined the inclination angles of the bicones with respect to our line of sight from kinematic models of radial outflow. Combining this information with position angles and half-opening angles of the bicones and the position angles and inclinations of the host galaxies, we have developed a computer code to model the three-dimensional geometry of the circumnuclear regions. The models can be turned in any direction to visualize the effects of the ionizing radiation and outflowing material from the central active nuclei on the surrounding galactic disks.
