[27.06] WIYN OPEN CLUSTER STUDY: Lithium in Hyades K Dwarfs

S. J. Margheim, C. P. Deliyannis (Indiana University)

We have observed 3 K dwarfs in the Hyades at high resolution (R~41,000) and high signal-to-noise (~250-500) with the KPNO 4m Eschelle in order to detect (or place new upper limits on) the Lithium abundance in these stars from the 6707Å Li feature. Thorburn et al. (ApJ, 415, 150, 1993) claim a 8mÅ detection for vB 153, while Soderblom et al. (AJ, 110, 729, 1995) see no Li feature greater than 5mÅ for these stars. Our observations are at greater S/N and resolution than Thorburn et al. and at a much greater S/N than Soderblom et al.
