On 14 November 1998, Saturn occulted GSC 0622-00345. Atmospheric ingress occurred at about 60\degr S latitude, making this one of the highest-latitude Saturn atmosphere occultations observed to date. We present a lightcurve and the derived atmospheric thermal profile, based on observations with NSFCam at the NASA Infrared Telescope Facility. Preliminary analysis indicates that the thermal profile is consistent with lower-latitude profiles obtained from other occultations.
This investigation was supported by Wellesley College under NASA contract #961169 and by the NASA PGG program.
