[47.03] Optical and X-ray Mass Estimates for Abell S1063

We will compare the mass estimates for Abell S1063 (z=0.27) derived from the analysis of optical and X-ray data. We have used the Gemini GMOS-S instrument to measure the redshift of 20 cluster members and of 2 gravitational arcs. These data have allowed us to estimate the inner cluster mass by using the strong lensing of the background galaxies and the virial mass from the velocity dispersion of the cluster members. In addition, this cluster has also been observed by XMM-Newton. This observation has been used to derive a global temperature for the cluster and estimate its mass. In this poster, we will compare these three mass estimates (i.e., masses derived from the X-ray, strong lensing, and velocity dispersion data).
