[113.02] An Estimate of the Primordial Helium Abundance Using Cloudy

R.L. Porter, G.J. Ferland (University of Kentucky)

We have used the photoionization simulation code Cloudy to estimate the primordial helium abundance, using the standard method of plotting the helium abundance vs the oxygen abundance for several low and extra-low metallicity systems, and extrapolating to zero metallicity. Comparison is made with other recent calculations, including the results of the recent WMAP survey.
