[77.02] A COMPLETE Search for Molecular Outflows in Perseus

Using 12CO data collected in the Coordinated Molecular Probe Line Extinction Thermal Emission (COMPLETE) Survey, we have carried out an unbiased search for molecular outflows. To begin the search, we analyzed maps of the Spectral Correlation Function (SCF) of the 12CO spectra, at a variety of spatial lags. The known outflows were all apparent in the SCF maps as regions of either very low or very high spectral correlation. Other regions identified by the SCF as having low or high spectral correlation in the data cube were examined by hand in order to assess the possibility that they harbored previously unknown outflows. Upon making customized “channel” maps of these 15 suspect regions, we have now confidently identified 4 new outflows, and 11 other regions with unusual spectral properties potentially associated with outflow. This work is still in progress, but we can say with certainty that COMPLETE has identified several new molecular outflows in Perseus.
