[10.07] BIMA Observations of polarization in Cepheus A

M. L. Lykins, A. P. Sarma (Eastern Kentucky University), R. M. Crutcher (University of Illinois), S.-P. Lai (University of Maryland)

We present high angular resolution BIMA polarization observations of the star forming region Cepheus A. Preliminary results indicate that we have detected polarization above the 3-\sigma level in the northwestern corner of this source. There appears to be no detection of polarization in the highest intensity region of Cepheus A. This is in agreement with results in other such regions, which have been used to argue that the dust polarization alignment decreases toward higher density regions.
