We obtained deep (down to the HBL), JHK images of the Rosette Molecular Complex using the wide imager FLAMINGOS at KPNO2.1m, as well as IRAM 30m maps in 6 molecular gas tracers, of seven embedded clusters associated with the most conspicuous spots of active formation in the area. Our goal is to study the interaction between gas and young stars, particularly at the stage of cluster emergence. Combined analysis of these datasets allowed us to notice that chemical differentiation and gas dispersal in the various clusters show a correlation with respect to the level of embeddeness of the clusters, suggesting the existence of a definite age spread along the cloud. This study is part of a complete survey of the region which will include near-infrared spectroscopy to measure age differences among clusters with greater precision. Our study sets a solid path for the reconstruction of the History of Star Formation in the Rosette complex.
