The depth (~26 mag) and large contiguous areas (~ 2 x 9 deg2) covered by the NOAO Deep Wide-Field Survey provide an unprecedented opportunity to study the evolution and large-scale spatial distribution of galaxy samples over a large range in redshift. In this talk I will review our studies of two populations, the z~3.7 star-forming galaxies and the z~1 red galaxy population, and discuss their global properties, spatial distribution and evolution.

Our research is supported by the National Optical Astronomy Observatory which is operated by the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy, Inc. (AURA) under a cooperative agreement with the National Science Foundation.
