I shall review techniques for obtaining angular resolutions in excess of the diffraction limit at optical and UV wavelengths. Techniques include spectroscopic and Doppler imaging, Doppler tomography, eclipse timing studies, and reverberation mapping techniques. I will discuss the capabilities and limitations of these methods. I will compare these capabilities to those obtainable from interferometric imaging, and will discuss some of the new vistas on astrophysics opened by such data.
