[91.02] New Insights on Galaxy Evolution from the Ultra Deep Field NICMOS and ACS Images

R.I. Thompson (Steward Observatory, Univ. of Arizona)

The combination of the NICMOS and ACS images of the Hubble Ultra Deep Field represent our deepest view back to the epoch of reionization and beyond. This talk will present new aspects of galaxy evolution and the evolution of the luminosity function based on this data. A comparison of the predictions from galaxies at redshifts 3 and 4 will be compared to the observed properties of galaxies at z=7 and higher.
