We present results from a multiple field survey for Lyman break galaxies (LBGs) associated with damped Lyman alpha systems (DLAs) at z~3. We investigate the clustering properties of LBGs with DLAs to measure the mass of typical z~3 DLAs in the context of CDM cosmology.

We obtained deep u'BVRI imaging of 9 quasar fields containing 10 known DLAs. LBG candidates that met theoretical color criteria were photometrically selected from these images to a spectroscopic magnitude limit of R < 25.5. Follow-up multislit spectroscopy of the LBG candidates has yielded ~300 z~3 redshifts. We utilize these spectra to assess the efficiency of our photometric selection technique and to determine the DLA-LBG cross-correlation function.
