We present first results of the Large VLA HI Survey of Nearby Galaxies (LVSG), the largest program ever undertaken at the VLA to perform 21-cm HI observations of the highest quality (~6'', <5 km s-1 resolution) of nearby galaxies. The goal of LVSG is to investigate key characteristics related to galaxy morphology and mass distribution across the Hubble sequence. A sample of 36 objects at distances 3
