We present high-spatial resolution observations of proper motions in solar active region NOAA 10486 using the newly developed high-order adaptive optics (AO) system at the Dunn Solar Telescope (DST) of the National Solar Observatory/Sacramento Peak (NSO/SP) on 2003 October 29. The images were obtained with high-order AO, frame selection, and speckle masking image reconstruction. We analyze a two hour time series with 1-minute cadence in the context of an X10 white-light flare. Local correlation tracking (LCT) was used to measure the horizontal proper motions in the photosphere and relate them to the strong shear observed in the magnetic field configuration.
