Quick-look results from a new 500 ks Chandra observation of the merging cluster 1E0657-56 will be presented, including a detailed gas temperature profile across the cluster's bow shock. Temperature structure of a shock front contains information on the electron-ion equilibration timescale and thermal conductivity of the intracluster plasma, and can limit the amount of energy that goes into the relativistic particle acceleration at the shock.
