Multiwavelength observations will help reveal the physical nature of the ultraluminous X-ray sources (ULXs). Enabled by arcsecond X-ray source positions now available from Chandra, there has been significant progress in the identification of optical and radio counterparts to ULXs. I discuss recent optical and radio observations of ultraluminous X-ray sources including measurement of the total X-ray luminosity of the ULX in Holmberg II via observation of HeII emission from a surrounding X-ray photoionized nebula which confirms that the X-ray source is truly ultraluminous.
