Early ion and neutral composition results from the ring atmosphere/ionosphere and the upper atmosphere of Titan will be presented.

The ring composition data indicate that O2+ is the dominant ion in the ring ionosphere. This indicates that the formation of oxygen-rich atmospheres in ice-rich environments such as Europa and Ganymede may be more prevalent than previously anticipated. Implications for mechanisms that may be operative will be discussed.

The mass spectrometer of the first Titan flyby will be presented as well. It is anticipated that this data (not obtained as of the writing of this manuscript) will be used to derive the thermal structure of the upper atmosphere of Titan. Comparisons to past models and measurements will be presented.
