[104.05] The 67 Hz QPO and Other High-Frequenecy Oscillations from the Black Hole Binary GRS1915+105

We first focus on 350 RXTE observations of GRS1915+105 while the source is in quasi-steady states (rms < 16% of mean in 1 s bins at 2-30 keV). The great majority of these are either in the hard state with detectable radio emission, or in a thermal state that is radio quiet. The 67 Hz QPO is seen in the thermal state, when the source enters a particular region of the color-color diagram. The correlation with X-ray flux is substantially weaker.

The other high-frequency QPOs (113 and 168 Hz) in GRS1915+105 are only seen by dissecting light curves for particular types of variable states. We review the spectral properties associated with these oscillations. They resemble the high-frequency QPOs in other black hole binaries, unlike the 67 Hz QPO.
