The Galactic Legacy Infrared Mid-Plane Survey Extraordinaire (GLIMPSE) is now essentially complete. This survey has imaged the galactic disk between longitudes |l| = 10 to 65 degrees (on either side of galactic center) and latitudes |b|< 1 degree using all four of the infrared bands of the Infrared Array Camera (IRAC) on the Spitzer Space Telescope. The survey is expected to yield a point-source archive containing ~75 million point sources with positions and flux densities. It will also provide a 99.5 point-source catalogue containing 35 million point sources. Many of the detected point sources exhibit infrared excesses indicative of protostellar envelopes and disks. The GLIMPSE image mosaics have also yielded a wealth of intriguing and beautiful extended structures, including diffuse emission, dark clouds, bowshocks, bubbles, planetary nebulae, supernova remnants, and more. This poster provides an early panoramic view of a small section of the survey, highlighting examples of interesting objects.
