We present multi-epoch Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) observations of the non-thermal radio source associated with T Tauri South. These observations show a compact source which is most likely associated with the magnetosphere of the underlying pre-main sequence star. We obtain absolute astrometry with the VLBA to an error of 0.25 mas, which allows a very precise measurement of the trigonometric parallax and proper motion of T Tauri South. The trigonometric parallax is \pi=7.07 ±0.14 mas, corresponding to a distance of 141.52+2.81 -2.81 pc. There is some indication that the compact radio source in T Tauri South is slightly resolved, with an faint extension which may arise from from reconnection flares at the star-disk surface.
