[142.06] Search for a Warp in the ionised gas layer in the Outer Galaxy

I.N. Azcarate (Instituto Argentino de Radioastronomia), J.C. Cersosimo (University of Puerto Rico)

From the results of H166 \alpha recombination line observations in both the Northern and Southern Galaxy, evidence for the presence of a warp of the ionized gas layer is obtained. Distances from the observed ionized gas for the first quadrant are estimated using the Galactic Rotation Model. The Southern observations are of less quality than the Northern ones, therefore we are planning to observe with better sensitivity the Southern Plane.
