[148.07] Redshift-Space Artifacts from a Filament Infall Model and Rotational Flow Models

Both the Ursa Major region (in the Local Supercluster) and the Dorado region (in the Southern Supercluster) show structures in redshift-space that resemble artifacts expected for flow with a non-zero curl about a small central cluster: a small finger of god bisecting a bowtie shape. Previously, the Tully-Fisher relation was used to support the identification of the finger in Ursa Major (Praton & Berger 2001). We continue the effort to understand these bowtie structures by investigating the redshift-space artifacts produced by various types of flow. We present results from toy model investigations of (1) a filamentary radial infall model, and (2) rotational models with both circular and elliptical orbits.
