The Earth's high energy gamma-ray emission is caused by cosmic ray interactions with the atmosphere. The EGRET detector on-board the CGRO satellite provided so far the largest dataset for the study of this emission. From the analysis of this data, an analytical model of the Earth's emission has been derived. This model will be applied in simulations for the GLAST project and will also be useful for other future missions. Details of the model and its derivation are presented.
