A Chandra observation has defined the extent of a supernova remnant in the LMC HII region N9. There is good agreement between X-ray and OIII and SII morphology. In X-rays, the central region is bright and emission from the outer shell is weak. The X-ray spectrum is soft and indicates enhanced Fe abundance in the central region which favors a Type IA SN origin.
