Proper motion traditionally serves as an indication of proximity. In an effort to identify new nearby stars, a joint initiative including the University of Edinburgh and Georgia State University has begun which locates new proper motion stars in the southern hemisphere. The search began at the south celestial pole and continued northward to the equator employing a proper motion constraint of \mu >= 0.4"/yr and a magnitude constraint of R = 16.5. Several interesting nearby objects have been detected and are included in four publications to date. Having completed the trawl throughout the entire southern sky (excluding the galactic plane), we present completion statistics compared with other proper motion surveys in addition to recent data on interesting discoveries.
