We have embarked on a spectroscopic program to monitor and discover "classical" A-type shell stars. These are late-B, A and early F-type stars which show Fe~II and Ti~II lines similar in strength to A-type bright giants or supergiants, but their hydrogen lines indicate giant or even dwarf luminosities. Well known members of the class include 17 Leporis and HD~195325. We are particularly interested in stars which exhibit static shells. We will present preliminary results for this program, including our strategy for discovering new A-type shell stars.
