The results of a combined optical imaging and spectroscopic survey of candidate CTTS in a 1.3 square degree region encompassing the L1688 cloud is presented. Using Hydra at the WIYN telescope, we have obtained spectra for 139 stars leading to the identification of 88 as association members. Thirty-nine of the stars display strong H\alpha emission, including two brown dwarfs, and are identified with CTTS. The association members are distributed in the lower extinction regions surrounding the the L1688 core, and when comparing their luminosities and temperatures to theoretical models, have a median age that is significantly older than young stars in the core. The age and distribution of this population are consistent with being low mass members of the Upper Scorpius subgroup in the Sco-Cen OB association whose formation was triggered by massive stars in the Upper-Centaurus Lupus and Lower-Centaurus Crux subgroups.
