[66.03] SNAP Focal Plane Latest Developments

P. Jelinsky (U.C. Berkeley), SNAP Collaboration

The SNAP focal plane must maintain the location and temperature of the 36 NIR, 36 Optical and 4 fine guidance detectors during the mission. In addition, the focal plane must maintain the location and temperature of the integral field unit spectrometer. Much progress has been made on the requirements, mechanical and thermal designs of the focal plane. We present an overview of the R&D activities we are undertaking to insure technology readiness for a mission proposal. This work has been supported by the U.S. Dept. of Energy, Office of Science, under contract DE-AC03-76SF00098.
