The planetary nebulae (PNe) NGC 6720 (the ``Ring'') and NGC 6853 (the ``Dumbbell'') are two bipolar PNe that show significant emission from molecular hydrogen in their outer regions. We present new ground-based near-infrared and Spitzer/IRAC images that show the distribution of molecular hydrogen in these PNe. Both nebula have an inner bright shell and outer faint envelope, with faint filaments extending radially out from the inner shell. The radial filaments may be associated with the knots that have previously been observed in these nebulae.

This work is based on observations made with the Spitzer Space Telescope, which is operated by JPL, Caltech under NASA contract 1407. Support for this work was provided by NASA through contract 1256790 issued by JPL/Caltech.
