[51.02] A New Model For Type II Linear Supernovae

T.R. Young, D. Smith, T.A. Johnson (University of North Dakota)

An optical GRB afterglow coupled with a supernova model is described that can reproduce the light curve of Type II - Bright Linear supernovae. A family of parameters is explored to investigate the validity of the model. Several parameters that are associated with a jet model which produces the GRB type afterglow are examined. As well, several parameters that are used when fitting supernova light curves are explored. It is shown that with this GRB-SN model many of the observed features of a Type II BL can be described. Preliminary fits to SN 1990K, SN 1980K, and SN 1970G are presented. The archetype Type II - BL SN 1979C can also be described by the model presented here and is displayed as a poster session.
