We acquired near-IR high-resolution spectra from the southern hemisphere of Saturn using NIRSPEC/KeckII on November 21, 2001 (UT) with a spectral resolving power of 20,000 between 2.87 and 3.54 microns. We have constructed synthetic spectra that include lines from known molecules and isotopomers of CH4, C2H2, C2H6, and PH3, in order to compare the models with the high-resolution data and with a previously obtained low-resolution spectrum from UKIRT/CGS4. Our preliminary analysis confirms the presence of emission lines of CH4 and absorption lines of CH4, C2H2, and C2H6, as well as strong absorption lines of PH3 between 3.02 and 2.92 microns above a continuum formed by the scattering of solar radiation by clouds or possibly haze particles. We derive cloud altitudes and the possible influence of haze particles on the spectra, as well as the mixing ratios of the hydrocarbon molecules and PH3 used in the model atmosphere.
