[14.10] Virtual Observatory tools for Solar System bodies

W. Thuillot, J. Berthier, F. Vachier, V. Lainey, J.-E. Arlot (IMCCE - Paris Observatory)

Research in dynamics and astrometry of objects of the Solar system leads us to provide ephemerides and data useful for the preparation of astrophysical observations from the Earth or from space, and for the analysis of these observations. The advent of the Virtual Observatory project offers new interesting possibilities. We can now easily cross these data with data from other sources due to the use of the international standards. In this specific context of interoperability, we plan to develop new web services concerning Solar system objects: data base of physical and orbital characteristics, physical ephemerides (i.e. aspects), positional ephemerides, astrometric tools for image processing and orbital reconstruction. Thus some specific tools for the asteroids science, identification of objects, data mining, support for observations and analysis, will be presented.
