[180.09] In Situ Throughput Determination on the Blanco Telescope

C. Stubbs (Harvard University), J. Tonry (IfA, University of Hawaii), S. Slater (Harvard University), J. Masiero (IfA, University of Hawaii), ESSENCE Collaboration

We have used a tunable laser in conjunction with a precision calibrated photodiode to determine the instrumental throughput of the CTIO Blanco 4m telescope. This technique uses monochromatic light projected onto the flat field screen to measure the relative throughput vs. wavelength of the primary, corrector, filters, and detectors, relative to the known QE curve of the photodiode. We will review the technique and present preliminary results. This work is supported by the NSF through AST 0443378 and by the LSST corporation.
