J. E. Goldston (UC Berkeley), GALFA-HI Collaboration
Over the course of the last year the GALFA collaboration has mapped vast swaths of the 21-cm sky. The factor of 10 increase in resolution over other large area surveys that the GALFA survey provides has revealed a wealth of new and eye-catching structures in the ISM. These preliminary 1000 square degrees of maps in the Galactic anti-center, the Taurus molecular cloud, and various high-latitude regions display the first glimmer of what large, high resolution Galactic HI maps can show us and demonstrate how little we actually understand the dominant constituent of our own ISM.
