We present VLBA observations of water masers in the star forming region OH43.8-0.1. Since water is nonparamagnetic, the Zeeman effect in water masers is very small. Nevertheless, high maser fluxes and narrow linewidths make the Zeeman effect detectable in water masers. The observations reported here are part of a longer-term study to map the magnetic field in several star forming regions with the VLBA, via the Zeeman effect in water masers. In OH43.8-0.1, we have detected magnetic fields of the order of tens of milligauss in several water maser features. This work has been partly supported by start-up funds to A.P.S. at DePaul University
