[71.13] GALEX Imaging and Spectroscopy of the Old, Open Cluster M67

W. Landsman (SSAI/GSFC)

We have obtained GALEX imagery and grism spectroscopy of the old, solar-metallicity open cluster M67. The 1500 Åimages are aproximately 3 times deeper than the earlier UIT ultraviolet imagery of Landsman et al. (1998, AJ, 116, 789) and include about a dozen new hot white dwarf candidates, and several new blue straggler detections. We will combine the individual stellar spectra to provide an integrated near-UV cluster spectrum, which can be used as a template for studying old metal-rich stellar populations.
