[183.18] Search for timing glitches in the non-burst emission from GRO J1744-28

C.M. Heffner, M.J. Stark (Lafayette College)

GRO J1744-28 is one of only a handful of X-ray pulsars for which accurate, phase-connected pulse timing is available over a period of years. Recent reports of possible glitches in othe X-ray pulsar data caused us to reexamine the archival RXTE data of this source. There are a few events which are interesting in terms of the possiblity of sudden changes in the pulsar frequency independent of accretion onto the star. We present a study of the relationship between accretion and frequency change for this source and highlight the interesting events.
