[181.03] ChaMPlane Optical Survey in the Galactic Center Region

We present results from our deep optical survey of Chandra sources in the Galactic Center Region. As part of the Chandra Multiwavelength Plane (ChaMPlane) survey program, using the Mosaic cameras at the CTIO and KPNO 4-m telescopes, the 5-year ChaMPlane Optical Survey produced 65 deep ChaMPlane fields in V, R, I and H\alpha bands covering 154 ACIS observations on 105 distinct Chandra fields (in cycle 1-6). Six (GC1-6) of the 65 fields are the Galactic Center mapping of 2.2 square degrees that covers 58 ACIS observations. We present our findings of the Chandra optical counterparts as well as the H\alpha emission sources in this region. See Hong et al. and Laycock et al. for X-ray and IR imaging results in the same region.
