[134.01] High Resolution (6'') Imaging Study of HI in Stefan's Quintet -- An Evolutionary History from Gas and Young Stars

We present the results of our new observations of Stefan's Quintet (HCG 92) in 21cm neutral hydrogen emission obtained using the VLA at 6'' resolution. The new data has sufficient resolution to allow a detailed comparison between cold neutral gas and the sites of new and recent star formation activity traced by H\alpha, UV (GALEX), and IR (Spitzer) images. By analyzing together with the analysis of the gas kinematics traced in HI and H\alpha, we reconstruct the evolutionary history of the structures associated with these tracers, and they are interpreted in the context of the evolution of the group as a whole. We also present the results of a new analysis on the spatial distribution of HI at scales between 6'' (2 kpc) and 9' (220 kpc) by comparing our VLA data and the new deep single dish spectrum obtained using the NRAO Green Bank Telescope (GBT).
