[71.15] A Further Search for Variable Stars in the Field of NGC 6882/85

S.E. Griffith (Hamilton College), E.G. Hintz (Brigham Young University), P. Millet (Hamilton College)

A number of variable stars have been found previously in the northwest region of the open cluster NGC 6882/85. A number of these are likely \delta Scuti variables. In an attempt to find more variables in the instability strip region of the main sequence we searched the region north of V381 Vul using the 0.4-m David Derrick Telescope. This region contained a number of stars with magnitudes similar to V381 Vul. We will present results for a number of suspected variables in this field.

Funding for this research was provided by the National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates program hosted by the Dept. of Physics and Astronomy at Brigham Young University.
