S. J. Steel (Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics)
The Universe Forum initiated a year-long program, coinciding with the 2005 Einstein Centennial/World Year of Physics, to bring modern astrophysics and cosmology to the public. Inside Einstein's Universe is a partnership between NASA's Universe Education Forum and a network of museums and planetariums nationwide, including fourteen official partner institutions, who are using IEU resources to create original programming for visitors of all ages. In addition to the suite of resources and educational materials being developed for the museum partners, the Universe Forum also provides ongoing professional development and coordinates a Speaker's Bureau of scientists who are interested in speaking at and forming partnerships with their local science museum or planetarium. Steel will present an overview of the Inside Einstein's Universe program and the Forum’s experiences over the lifetime of the project.
