[69.11] Ages for illustrative groups of field stars via gyrochronology

S. A. Barnes (Lowell Observatory)

Gyrochronology is the technique of deriving ages for solar- and late-type main sequence stars using their rotation periods and colors. This technique is clarified and developed here, and used to derive ages for illustrative groups of nearby, late-type, and some individual field stars with known rotation periods. (NSF is gratefully acknowledged for support of this work).
