We present Keck LRIS spectra of galaxies within 2" from the line of sight to a quasar that is known to have a low-redshift damped Lyman-alpha (DLA) absorber. The goal of these observations was to identify the galaxy producing the DLA and to estimate its star formation rate. We subtract the quasar contribution and then search for emission lines of H-alpha, H-beta, [O II], and [O III] at the DLA redshift. We discuss the implications of our results for the nature of the DLA galaxy. SG and VPK gratefully acknowledge support from the U.S. National Science Foundation grant AST-0206197.
